He Is Risen, He Is Not Here

The authorities new that Jesus said He would rise the third day so they hired soldiers to guard the tomb. Jesus had told His disciples that He would rise from the dead on the 3rd day but not one of them believed. One would have thought  all His disciples would  wait near His tomb to greet Him as He came out but none did. Instead when He showed Himself to His disciples they were all surprised and shock. Thomas even said unless he put his fingers inside His wounds he would not believe.

Why is it than non believers would believe at times more than believers? Surely all His disciples were believers but certainly not strong believers.

Imagine His disciples  witnessing first hand all the miracles He did but yet having no confidence that He would rise from the dead. They slept and ate with Jesus. Witnessed the large crowds who came to hear Him. Watched Him raise the dead, heal the crippled, give sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf and walk on water.

I wonder if this lack of strong belief is why we Christians are so often lukewarm in His service? More later as I recall…….
