Jesus turned over the money tables, took a whip and drove them out of the temple. He said of the Pharisees and Sadducees, “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?.” Jesus was not kind nor did he show them respect.
Paul said: “This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;” Titus 1:13
Nathan the prophet pointed his finger in the face of David and accused him of adultery and murder.
On and on we can go through the Bible and see that we are not always told to be nice or that we should always show respect.
Our country is in the mess it is in because Christians have decided to remain silent and permit evil to prosper. Perhaps not the only issue but a huge one. Be nice to evil? No thank you. Not speak out concerning wrongs done by our government? No thank you, I will not be silent.
I have a dog named Sam. Sam will attack any one who he does not know and enters my house uninvited. Sam is my protector yet he is the most loving dog I have ever had. John Calvin rightly said: “A dog barks when his master is attacked. I would be a coward if I saw that God’s truth is attacked and yet would remain silent.”
Yes personally we are turn our other cheek when attacked. However we are not to turn our head when truth is attacked.
Seems we have wishy washy lukewarm Christians as the majority. The Bible is interpreted according to feelings rather that what it clearly says.More later as I recall…….
