Reformed Churches

No matter how you cut the cake when we are talking about the church we are talking about people. Unless you mean the creed, constitution or the physical structure. The church is people. The church is local people gathering together as a unit. A Biblical church is one that believes the Bible and endeavors to practices such.

Some churches call themselves reformed. What did they reform? Their creed? Beliefs? Their practice?

The Bible talks much about regeneration but I don’t recall chapters or verses pointing to reformation.

Years ago the United States had what was called reform schools.  A reform school was a penal institution, generally for teenagers. Even back then the answer was never reformation but instead regeneration.

A Biblical church should be filled with those who believe the Bible. The ONLY way this can be done is for the members to be born again. Not reformed, born again. When a person becomes part of and joins the church they should be able to present a clear testimony as to repenting and coming to Christ.

I would much rather call a church a Bible believing church than a reformed church.

After all is this not the purpose of the church? A group of Bible believers that gather together for the purpose of following the Saviour and the Bible? Is this not the main thing, the main purpose? Reforming a creed Saves no one. Why? Because a creed Saves no one. Jesus the Christ is the Saviour and Him only. Jesus the Christ and the Bible should be the only guideline and focus.

We should major on the major not something that merely sounds good. More later as I recall…….

The Gospel Made Simple

We must not have opinions on this subject by rather to what God says in His book.

1 ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians chapter 15

Let’s break it down from what this scripture says.

  1. Christ died for our sins.
  2. He was buried and rose again the 3rd day.

It is no more complicated than these 2 points.

We now must ask, How do we receive and apply this Gospel to ourselves for the purpose of our sin removal?

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.John 14:6

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Hebrews 12:2

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

We now see that God says in His book that what happened on Calvary is the Gospel. Christ died for our sins. We also see that we must look to Him to receive the Gospel in payment for our sins. The Bible makes it clear that our trust in what Jesus did on the cross is our only way to have our sins forgiven.

We are cautioned throughout the Bible not to add anything to the Gospel. Do not add church membership, our good works, good intentions, effort etc. Look to Him and to Him only. More later as I recall…….

Wonderful Preaching Tonight at Church

I’ll not go over the entire message but will list one of the points. Definition of forgiveness…….taking it off our account. No debt owed. Forgotten.

Now that is a wonderful definition and is as true as true can be. Not so easy to put into practice but is a mandatory principle found in Gods word.

  1. We are to forgive others no matter if they have hurt us.
  2. We are to accept Gods forgiveness when we confess to God our sins.

Not doing either is not believing what God says.

The story of Joseph was told. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. Some of his brothers wanted to kill Joseph. Joseph accepted his lot as a slave but so impressed Pharaoh that Joseph became the number two man in Egypt and had much power. Twenty years later the brothers of Joseph came to Egypt and not knowing that Joseph was there brother had a meeting with him to beg for food. Joseph recognized them right off but said nothing derogatory to them. He could have had their heads.

Instead, Joseph forgave them and treated them wonderfully. They never repented but Joseph forgave them because they were his brothers.

In a tight with family members? Perhaps you should follow the lead of Joseph and God will bless you for it.  More later as I recall…….

This Is Why Trumps Health Care Stinks

THE FOLLOWING IS THE ONLY SOLUTION

I hope civics teachers across the nation are taking advantage of the learning opportunity the Republican and Democratic parties are handing them in the health care debate.
It shows the natural progression of government “problem-solving.”
On the first count, the U.S. health care system is an excellent example of how government takes something good and destroys it.
How it works is this. First, government passes a law that begins to regulate something in someway. The regulation, of course, interferes in the natural market so prices go up and service declines. Government tells the people there is a problem and that it will fix it with some reform. The reform further erodes the market and increases the government control over the thing, which in turn leads to greater problems. Government then says it will reform it, ignoring the fact that the problem began with the first reform. And this continues until government largely controls it and it is a royal mess.
This is obviously happening with health care.
Around the beginning of the 20th century, America’s socialists, who called themselves Progressives, began advocating for a national health system. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of the American Medical Association, that effort failed. Even President Franklin D. Roosevelt could not get a national health care system passed as part of his New Deal. President Harry Truman tried the same with his Fair Deal.
But they did not give up. In 1951, the beginning of the end occurred when the IRS gave tax breaks to employers to provide health insurance. This tied insurance to employment. It also made individuals less responsible for the costs of the insurance, which naturally drives up prices.
If you don’t believe me, take an honest look at how your spending on groceries would change if someone said they would pay for 50 percent of your groceries. You would probably shop more carelessly and spend more as well.
Every successive reform of the health care industry has resulted in greater damage to the system, from the first tax breaks to Obamacare.
Now the Republicans, instead of doing the right thing and repealing Obamacare, they are simply dressing it up a little.
The health care solution is simple, really. Let the market work. Private markets produce steadily lower prices in real terms and steadily rising quality.
In the health care field, while the quality of health care has increased dramatically, the prices have as well. This is because it is so heavily regulated by government that market forces cannot touch it. Government regulation, in essence, is a protective shield that prevents market forces from driving costs down.
If we want to fix the American health care system we need to flush the government out of it.
We need serious market-based reforms. We need to eliminate many of the thousands of government regulations that hamper the free market. We need to transition away from an employer-based health insurance system so the individual consumers would have more choice as well as more accountability and portability in their health insurance.
We should give the same tax breaks companies get for providing health insurance to those who wish to buy their insurance on the market. We should increase and encourage the use of health savings accounts and make them easier to use.
We should also privatize Medicare (and Social Security for that matter). We should allow cross-state health insurance purchases and we need malpractice reform. We also need to eliminate the Department of Health and Human Services.
Leftists would have you believe that opposing a government-run health care system is somehow heartless. But the reality is the exact opposite is true. The only humane and effective health care system is one that is naturally regulated through market forces.
The sooner we end the Pollyannaish belief that government can somehow be in control of health care and, at the same time, make it affordable, accessible, efficient and effective, the sooner we can actually fix our failing government-run health system and create a true market-based one that would drive down costs and make it easier for everyone to have better access to the greatest health care in the world.

That I Might See Him

Do you ever get disgusted with yourself? As Christians we have within ourselves that which wants to do nothing but good but then when we see ourselves in the mirror, it is not a pretty sight.

How often do I say to myself?  “Why did I do that?” When even I don’t know there must be a problem.  Would it help any if our thoughts and actions were printed in a news paper for the world to see? Would that then motivates us to do only good? Probably not, we would very likely just rebel and become worse. It is then I would really like the phrases,  “at least I am not as bad as some.”  or  “the lesser of two evils is good.”

In thinking all this over, I think there is only one answer and for sure it is found in the book of Job. By Gods own account, Job was a good man. The problem was or became that Job was so good he became “Self righteous.” When Jobs three friends consulted him and put Jobs catastrophes at Jobs feet, Job rebelled. Jobs friends were wrong in their accusations but Job was not exactly the saint he thought he was.

Job had an awakening in the last chapter of his book.  He had to admit to God some things. God had already told Job just previously that Job lacked much. Listen to what God told Job:

1 ¶ Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 ¶ Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee. Job chapter 40

Job knew better. Job knew he could not save himself as God pointed out. Job finally got to the point where he knew he lacked much and because Job knew he was so far below God and true righteousness Job blurted out to God that he was a vile sinner. Unworthy and undone.  But Jobs awakening did not come altogether in chapter 40. We must look to the 42nd chapter to get the answer.

1 ¶ Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

Our thoughts and deeds printed in a news paper? Job admitted that the holy God knew everything about Job. God knows our everything, good and bad. Yes, we would worry if our thoughts and deeds were printed in a news paper but we should be much more concerned that God knows. Only God can judge you? That should be a burden and alarm around your neck.

Job already knew these things but now Job is awakened:

Verse 5:  “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. “

Oh that I might see God as Job saw Him. Before I do wrong I should be too embarrassed to do such. God should be so apart of me that I would think before I act. When evil thoughts are present I should immediately repent.

D.L. Moody, a man that was greatly used of God once told how that when he had an evil thought while even crossing the street, he would stop in the middle of the street and confess it to God.

Our quest should be too see God as He is. God is holy and perfect in every way. God is so unlike us in holiness that holiness should be a constant desire.

Oh that I might see Him.

John the Apostle had it right when he wrote:

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John chapter 1

How can we become pure and holy? Seeing Him as He is.  While this can not and will not become completely true in this life it certainly should be our desire and quest. We should utter it in our prayers and practice it daily. That is why the Bible should be so apart of us, that we might know Him. That we might see Him as He is. More later as I recall…….

Palestinians Still Firing Rockets

This just today. March 18th 2017

In case you are wondering Palestinians are still attempting to attack Israel. A rocket exploded in an open area Saturday morning in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. Rocket alert sirens were heard in the southern Gaza border communities.  No one was injured in the incident.

Obviously the Arabs don’t get the message that God is the protector of Israel. Or do they?

These headlines and article in the Gaza news paper a few years ago:

Headlines in Israel claim miracles are protecting the Jews during the Gaza Strip ground war, with one headline proclaiming that Hamas terrorists are complaining about God changing the direction of rockets in mid-air.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  Psalm 121:4

You see I do not worry for the safety of Israel if the United States ceases its support. However I do worry about the United States if it continues to seek to divide Israel.

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. Joel 3:2

Speaking of those who seek to divide the land of Israel and part the land that belongs to the Jewish people, God declares:

For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. Obadiah 1:3

So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. Joel 3:17

If rockets were fired into Michigan from Ohio our Government and the media would explode with condemnation. Yet for the past few years, including today our government and media remains silent over what is taking place in Israel as the Palestinian Arabs continue to fire their rockets meant for death.

What say ye Donald trump, congress and evil media? Your silence is deafening.

The very least we should do is speak out.  More later as I recall…….

A Favorite Psalm

1 ¶ A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
7 ¶ Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. 27th Psalm

A Unique Nation Like None Other Before

The rebirth of the nation of Israel is unique among all the nations in history. Starting around 600 BC, the nation was totally destroyed, not once but twice. Amazingly, after each destruction, it came back into existence. Not only was the nation destroyed twice, but each time nearly all of the people were taken captive into foreign countries. Yet they returned to the land. All this points to the uniqueness of Israel. This nation is not like the others because it is based on an everlasting covenant with God!

In 586 BCE, the great Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, totally destroyed the nation, government, Jerusalem and the temple. This destruction resulted in nearly all the Jews being taken captive to Babylon. When a people were taken captive as the Jews were, they usually were lost in history. The Jews are different. They remained in Babylon for 70 years and then returned to rebuild Jerusalem and their temple.

The Romans, some 650 years later in 70 CE, again destroyed the nation, Jerusalem and the temple. The Jews once again were defeated totally and were dispersed into all the world. The devastation was awesome. Israel should have ended as a nation and probably as a people in 586 BCE, but it survived. Israel, definitely should have ended as a nation in 70 CE, but as the ancient Bible prophets wrote, the nation literally was reborn. This occurred in 1948.

We live in the time that Israel is again a nation, with Jerusalem as its capital. The people once again speak Hebrew and even have shekels for money! We are living in a time when Bible prophecy is happening before our eyes! As the Day of the Lord and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ grows closer, it is clear from the Bible that the world focus will be on Israel and Jerusalem. The God of Israel deals with the nations as they bless or curse his nation Israel, and his city Jerusalem.

I show this in my book As America Has Done to Israel. This book shows the authority of the Bible as the word of God. In a very unique way, it shows, through the flow of history and current events, how God directly is working to fulfill his prophetic plan for Israel! Throughout history you can see that God deals with the Jewish people and Israel like no other. Just as God dealt with Israel throughout history in a unique way, so it is today, as God seems to have a specific timeline in which events are occurring. You can follow this unique timeline which follows:

God’s Prophetic Timeline with the Modern State of Israel

1897 This year is considered the beginning of modern Zionism. Starting on August 29, the first Zionist Congress met in Basil, Switzerland to begin plans for the modern state of Israel in what was then Palestine. The reason for this was a tremendous outbreak of anti-Semitism in France and throughout Europe.

1917  This happened during World War 1: (1) On November 2, Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour issued what is now known as the Balfour Declaration, expressing the British government’s support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. (2) On December 9, the Turkish Army surrendered Jerusalem to the British.

1947  This was the result of World War 2 and the Holocaust. On Nov. 29, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for Palestine to be partitioned between Arabs and Jews, allowing for the formation of the Jewish state of Israel. A war followed which ended with Jerusalem being divided.

1967 The Six Day War. This war was fought between June 5 and 10, with the result that on June 7, Jerusalem was united as the capital of Israel.

2017 Based on the previous events, it looks like 2017 is going to be a year of great, if not awesome, prophetic significance.

When examining these prophetic events regarding Israel, it becomes very clear that dramatic events are happening in years ending with 7. If you take it one step further, these events are spaced years apart that can be divide by 10. Then taking one more step, the years between are 120, 100, 70, 50, 30, and 20.

The Progression

1897: The concept of a Jewish State.

1917: The Blueprint for a Jewish State.

1947: The reality and first phase of the State of Israel.

1967: Phase two of the State of Israel.

2017: Phase three of the State of Israel?

The Convergence with 2017

From the beginning of the Zionist movement it is exactly 120 years.

From the Balfour Declaration and the capturing of Jerusalem it is exactly 100 years.

From the United Nations declaration it is exactly 70 years.

From the uniting of Jerusalem it is exactly 50 years.

Other connections

From the Zionist movement to the Balfour Declaration it is exactly 20 years.

From the Zionist movement to the UN declaring the Jewish state it is exactly 50 years.

From the Zionist movement to the unifying of Jerusalem it is exactly 70 years.

From the Balfour Declaration to the UN declaration it is exactly 30 years.

From the Balfour Declaration to the unifying of Jerusalem it is exactly 50 years.

From the UN declaration to the unifying of Jerusalem it is exactly 20 years.

The Year 2017

Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.  – Jesus Christ

From the events shown above, there is a convergence in 2017 of events occurring on 120, 100, 70 and 50 years. I am NOT predicting that any prophetic events like those listed are going to happen. What I am saying is that based on the listed timeline, if God follows this pattern, something incredible is going to happen in 2017. So many of these timeline patterns are converging this year that it is a warning to be prepared for a cataclysmic event that may happen. What I also noticed is that the events all happened during either extreme anti-Semitism, war, including world wars, or as the result of one. None of them happened during a time of peace or by a peaceful treaty, but they all resulted from tremendous violence and hatred.

What Could Happen in 2017 ?

Zechariah 12:6  In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

<img class=”alignleft wp-image-43169″ src=”http://defendproclaimthefaith.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/Americas-Fatal-Mistake-1-759×1024.jpg” alt=”” width=”164″ height=”221″ srcset=”http://defendproclaimthefaith.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/Americas-Fatal-Mistake-1-759×1024.jpg 759w, http://defendproclaimthefaith.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/Americas-Fatal-Mistake-1-222×300.jpg 222w, http://defendproclaimthefaith.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/Americas-Fatal-Mistake-1.jpg 1560w” sizes=”(max-width: 164px) 100vw, 164px” />Just as it was prior to both World Wars, today there is a tremendous buildup of anti-Semitism in Europe, with the United Nations and the European Union continually condemning Israel for building on the land, especially in Jerusalem. As 2016 ended, the nations were focused on Jerusalem and demanding that it be divided and made the capital of a Palestinian State. With all of the tension building against Israel and Jerusalem, 2017 might be the year for an awesome war over Jerusalem, or a war that will start and end up with the focus on Jerusalem.

It is very possible that the war could light the fuse to Armageddon. This war will not be Armageddon, but a war that will dramatically change the world order and set the stage for the antichrist and Armageddon.

It is very possible that this war could break the back of Islam. If this becomes a Muslim religious war over Jerusalem, it is very possible that God will judge Islam over his city and show the world that he is the Holy God of Israel and allah is not God. This would fulfill, for example, Psalm 83, Obadiah and Isaiah 17 along with many other prophecies. With the defeat of Islam, Israel would be free to build the long-awaited third temple on the Temple Mount, and thus, start the countdown for the coming of the antichirst, Armageddon, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 83:18  That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

For the full teaching on this, see my three part DVD series: America’s Fatal Mistake. I am happy to say that with the election of President Donald Trump, it appears that America has avoided the fatal mistake over Israel and Jerusalem! I am so delighted to report this.

My ministry has exploded throughout the world. The key to this is the brochure Jesus Christ Came to Heal the Brokenhearted. Millions have been printed in over 20 languages with a backlog of five million in India alone! Incredible numbers of Hindus, Muslims, (yes Muslims) Buddhists, and pagans have come to Christ for salvation and healing. Throughout Asia and Africa, there are now thousands of pastors working with me. The ministry has grown far beyond what I can provide financially just to meet the printing costs.

What I am doing is offering a $15.00 special of my book As America Has Done to Israel and the DVD series America’s Fatal Mistake. This means the DVD is free. The proceeds will go to fund the ‘healing the brokenhearted’ message throughout the world.

To order the special go to: As America Has Done to Israel.

Ezekiel 38:16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

Judgment IS Coming to America

Yes, God is a God of Mercy but God never winks at sin. The Bible is replete with God having enough and His judgment is always severe. God always judges the sins of a nation.

¶ Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
Proverbs 14:34

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 11 Chronicles 7:14

We are still a nation promoting the practice of homosexuality. So far we have done nothing but push Israel to give up more land. We have borrowed as a nation and without their permission left our debt to a yet to be born generation. We are still promoting adultery and divorce. We have removed God from our schools. We are promoting transgender and same-sex marriage. We have made government our god by depending on government rather than depending on God. Evidently we now believe rather than God protecting us having a strong military is the answer. Churches over all have become entertainment centers rather than Preaching Gods word. We have taken evolution as fact and scoffed at the Biblical account of creation and called it education. The 10 commandments have been discarded from public view. We have made the killing of the unborn the law of the land. We have decided if a person is able to work but refuses to work that it is ok to give them welfare regardless.

We have decided that we need not repent we need only elect the right people to public office. Many Christians have made Donald Trump the savior of our nation.

We have the principle of judgment so confused no one is permitted to say what is right or wrong.

We have become a nation of entitlement and because we are born believe we are owed everything and anything our hearts desire.

As a nation we are more divided than ever.  We have decided on the lesser of 2 evils rather than rejecting evil out right.

We have decided that a well paying job is proof of Gods blessing.

It is not a question as to will God judge us but when will God judge us. More later as I recall…….
